Your privacy and security is very important to us here at Zest for Life. You can look through all of our site, including the online shop, without identifying yourself personally. When you choose to contact us, or place an order in the online shop, the information you submit will only be used to provide the services you request. When using our online shop, it is necessary to enable cookies in order for our server to keep track of your order. Cookies are not required in our main site.
Information we collect, and how we use this information
Non-personal information
When you access Zest-for-Life.co.uk, our web server will automatically log the following:
- Network information (your computer IP address)
- Browser name and version
- Time and date you accessed the site
- Referring page (the page you visited last)
This information is used by Zest for Life to make sure our site is working without any errors, and to provide us with statistical information about the number of visitors we have to our site.
Personal information
If you choose to contact us, we will collect and possibly archive a copy of your email text, and your email address. This information will be stored on a computer at the Zest for Life premises in Helensburgh. Your email address and email text will only be used to provide you with the service you requested. We will not pass on your details to any third party which is not part of Zest for Life, except where we are legally required to do so.
If you go into our online shop, you will see that the web address of our site changes. You will also notice that your browser displays our online shop as being a secure site, but not part of Zest for Life. This is because we use an external company to provide our secure server. The benefit of this is that the server is managed by our provider, and therefore kept fully up to date, meaning the data you submit is as secure as possible.
When you submit an order to us, all of the information you provide is sent encrypted over the internet to the secure server. It is then stored on this server as encrypted files. The server then contacts Zest for Life to tell us your order has come through. By connecting to the server, we are able to download the information in encrypted form. We can then decode the information and begin processing your order. Your information may be archived as part of our accounting processing. However, this information will not be made available to third parties, except where we are legally required to do so.
Cookies
A cookie is a small text file which your browser stores on the hard disk drive of your computer. Our server is able to store information in this file and access this information again when you return to our site.
Our main site doesn't use cookies at all. However, when you access our online shop, you must set your browser to allow cookies from our secure server. This is because our shop must store information about your current order, so you are able to browse round and fill your virtual shopping basket. Without cookies, our server cannot keep track and would therefore have no way to keep track of all the items you ordered. For this reason, it is important that you allow cookies to be stored from our secure server if you wish to make purchases in our online shop.
